I have just received my Teepor Boat Hook.
Although I haven't tried in in the boat yet, I have practiced at home and I think it will work well.
I have attached a video explaining to people that are unsure whether to buy it or not, how the device is operated.
All the videos on the internet are too fast. It is difficult to see how the mechanism works - hence my fairly lame video.
The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the telescopic handle is a bit flimsy and not of the same high quality as the main mechanism.
I commend the inventor of this excellent piece of equipment.
I am a 65 year old man. My boat is a 3.9 metre aluminium "tinny". I usually put my boat on the River Murray here in South Australia and I am usually on my own.
When I return to the boat ramp or pull in to the river bank to have lunch etc, I always have difficulty mooring the boat and several times when I get off the boat onto the river bank, I have nearly lost the boat out onto the river as I climb off. The last time I did the splits and would have looked ridiculous to anyone watching (not to mention doing myself an injury).
I look forward to the Teepor hook helping me.
Fantastic piece of kit recommend to everybody
This works well but some of the edges are a bit sharp
A definite must for anyone who often takes their boat out solo, or takes out friends/family members who are relatively useless when it comes to helping out when docking. Sometimes it's easier just to tell everyone to sit down and stay out of the way while you take care of it yourself. While I've gotten good enough this year at docking that I don't use it as much, it's always nice to have on windy days when docking can get squirrelly. A bit pricey but the build quality reflects that price.
I use the product to help me dock my boat. I am usually alone and having the hook helps pull me in. It is really useful on windy days.
Seems well made. Plastic parts may be a future issue. Small size fits in boat easily.
I love the size of this telescoping boat hook. It retracts to a manageable size so that it easily stores by the helm station. I actually used it for the first time yesterday. It is long enough to easily reach the dock lines. The only issue I had with it was when I was pushing away from the pier to be able to get the dock line on the other side of boat. It collapsed. The problem could with me not tightening it enough. The padded handle and loop on the end are a thoughtful addition.
I can't believe I've spent years grabbing the dock anxiously close and bruising my ribs on the edge of the boat instead of using this. So easy. Just get one!
I use this product to keep in my 24' bowrider. I wanted a shorter one for hooking my dock lines when returning to the dock. However, I wish I would have purchased the longer one. Overall, I would recommend this boat hook if you are wanting something compact that will easily fit in a compartment.
I purchased this to us to help in docking. I like the quality, strength and the compact size.
I just used my new boat hook lobster Hooping the other night. It extends longer than my old one and is much lighter. I highly recommend!
I am using this to pull my pontoon closer to my dock when paring. We basically have to parallel park our pontoon at our dock (between our other boat and the end of the dock where there are rocks. Using this as a tool to pull the boat may not be what it was intended for. the hook on the end is hard plastic but can not handle a lot of pressure without breaking. I am sure its great for grabbing a rope but using it to pull your boat closer put too much stress on the hook part. Upon getting the second one, I put duct tape around the hook to create a stronger hook. It has worked great since.
The item arrived quickly and it was easy to assemble. It is just what I wanted.
My husband likes that it telescopes, is lightweight and works great for getting things out of the back of the truck bed.It also works great when bringing the boat up to the dock.
I bought this to move cargo around in my truck bed without having to climb in or open my bed cover. it works absolutely perfect for this application. I know it wasn't made for this use but it does work better than other hooks made for the use. it extends easy for reaching all the way to the front of the bed, and collapses for easy storage.
